ClariNet DistributionsAccepting the right distributions is crucial if you run INN. To set the distributions right, you need to know what edition of the ClariNews you subscribe to. It's best to only accept the exact distributions.
ClariNet uses these distributions to control which stories go to which subscribers. Distributions in USENET news limit the distribution of an article. First the system decides if you get one of the newsgroups the article is in, and then it sees if you get any of the distributions. A typical ClariNet article has a "Distribution:" line with a list of distributions for all the distributions it is in: Distribution: cl-3,cl-edu,cl-4Is an article in the Three-Star, Four Star and Educational editions but not in the One or Two Star.
By and large you don't need to worry about these distributions except
in configuring your INN ME: line, or if you are one of our
specially contracted hubs.
